The partnership of George Boin and Emile Taburet is said to have reintroduced the Louis XV rococo style to Parisian metalwork in the late 1880s. The Boin-Taburet firm was established in 1873 by George Boin and Emile Taburet. Boin-Taburet is accredited with the revival of Louis XV Rococo style silver in 1880s Paris. Their work is typically of extremely fine quality and displays superb modeling and detail. Due to this they won a major award at the International Exposition of 1889. Boin-Taburet produced a number of Surtout de Tables, most of which were made to resemble garden lakes or ponds with ornamental sculptures, fountains and urns.
