The delicately crafted micromosaic plaque is rectangular in shape, and set into a slate backing, all housed within an outer ormolu frame. The plaque depicts a couple in 17th-Century period dress strolling along a grand corridor, with a large tapestry hanging in the background. Toward the right of the stately interior stands a servant holding back a curtain. The servant averts his eyes downward, as does the lady. Curiously, the gentleman looks at his companion suspiciously, implying a secretive mistrust of the lady and suggesting that perhaps the servant, whom she avoids looking at, is her lover.
