Description

Crafted during the Empire period, this three-piece salon suite exemplifies the grandeur and power characteristic of the style, with its gilded accents and imposing design.

The suite consists of a sofa and two armchairs. The sofa is particularly striking, featuring an impressively large, upholstered seating surface. Its upper rail is decorated with a carved and gilded palmette motif, flanked by branches of foliage—classic elements of Empire-style furniture. The tubular feature at the front curves gracefully upward at the sides, culminating in the armrests. Both ends are crowned with intricately carved bowls filled with rich floral compositions. Additional gilded embellishments, designed in harmony with the overall style, adorn the front and sides of the sofa. It is supported by squashed bun feet, detailed with gilt laurel leaf motifs, adding further elegance.

The armchairs feature upholstered backs and seats framed by painted and gilded wooden structures. Their top rails mirror the sofa's gilded palmette motif, while the arms curve outward toward the seat, adorned with an array of carved and gilt ornaments. The front legs are tapered and decorated with prominent gilded details, while the rear legs are square in profile and flare outward in a distinctive sabre style.

Most surfaces of this salon suite are painted in a soft cream tone, providing a stunning contrast that enhances the intricate gilded carvings.

The seats require reupholstering, a service we are happy to provide for you.

This elegant salon suite would make a remarkable addition to both private collections and residential interiors, infusing any space with timeless sophistication and historical charm.
