The mirror takes the shape of an arch and is set inside a rectangular form gilt bronze frame with an arched cornice. The mirror is supported below the frame by caryatids, or winged female figures, above which there is a rectangular plaque at the centre of the lower part of the frame. The base of the frame is also mounted with gilt bronze fleurs-de-lys which extend out from the sides of the frame. There are two, individually-framed arch-shaped panels of the mirror: the inside arch is framed with a female figure at each side, and is joined to the outside arch by draped ribbon form swags and oval-shaped plaques above. The cornice of the mirror is centred with another oval-shaped plaque, with scrolling foliage around it. The mirror is supported at the reverse by a gilt bronze arm which is hinged at the top.
