Description

The table is of square form, and is surmounted with a red, veined marble top with curved edges and rounded corners. Below the marble top, the cabinet is of bombe shape and the front features a narrow, upper drawer with an ormolu acanthus leaf handle and a larger, lower cupboard with an ormolu pin handle. The drawer and cupboard are decorated with a cartouche to the centre in a darker wood veneer, contrasting against a lighter-toned wooden surround. The vertical lengths of the corners of the cabinet are mounted with scrolling acanthus leaf-form ormolu. The lower edges of each of the sides of the cabinet are mounted to the centre with further small, scrolled, ormolu mounts. The cabinet is set on four, cabriole legs which are joined by a lower shelf, with ormolu mounted inverted and curved edges, and terminate in ormolu mounted hoof feet.

The cabinet is stamped to the ormolu mounts 'F. Linke'.
