This fine Meissen plaque depicts a faun and nymph in a reeded setting on the water's edge, with two other figures surrounding and a running boar to the foreground. The manner of execution is accomplished, with the style employed resembling works from the Renaissance, particularly in the use of shade to render sculptural form.
The porcelain plaque is housed in a metal frame and bears the crossed sword mark of the Meissen manufactory to the reverse.
