This German silver tray was produced c. 1880 in Württemberg. It is rectangular in form with rounded corners and a raised, moulded lip. The tray has two scrolled handles overlaid with richly detailed moulded foliate motifs. A garlanded ram’s head occupies the centre of each of the four sides. The centre of the topside of the tray carries a Royal inscription in German, which reads as follows:
IHRER KÖNIGLICHEN HOHEIT / DER / PRINZESSIN PAULINE VON WÜRTTEMBERG / ZUR VERMÄHLUNGSFEIER / AM 29. OCTOBER 1898 / IN EHRERBIETUNG GEWIDMET / VON DEM / WURTTEMB. KUNSTGEWERBEVEREIN
