Description

Made in Continental Europe- probably France or Germany- this beautiful antique doll is modelled as the full length figure of a young boy, standing on a plinth. The boy is dressed in period fabric costume with fine lace-work and holding fabric flowers; his blonde wig is topped by a flat black hat. The head of the doll is made from bisque (biscuit) porcelain, and is set with realistic features, such as eyes, eyelashes, eyebrows, nose and mouth with teeth. The figure is standing on a square-shaped plinth base containing the mechanism for the musical automaton, and comes complete with winding key.
