Description

The clock takes form in a rectangular plan, and sits on four rectangular ormolu feet. The lower section of the clock is formed of two levels of faceted, cut glass, each of which sit on an egg and dart ormolu plinth. Surmounting the upper level of cut glass is an ormolu gallery ornamented with flowers and acanthus leaves which runs beneath the circular dial of the clock. The gilt bronze dial is set with white circular plaques of enamel inscribed with Arabic numerals, and bordered with flowers and ears of wheat. Two swan necks of cut glass curl upwards and outwards from around the dial, surmounted with symmetrically detailed swan heads in ormolu. Between the swans sits an ormolu bust in the classical style supported by gilt bronze rods and a rose.

The movement is stamped Ch. Leroy a Paris.
