Description

The bowl of the chandelier is made of yellow opaline glass and is edged with an ormolu (gilt bronze) mount. The glass is painted with four separate collections of flowers in full bloom, including tulips, roses, and pansies. Encircling the glass bowl is a stylised pattern of parcel gilt geometric palmettes and foliate motifs. The centre of the bowl is mounted with an ormolu drop finial and a skirt of leaves. An ormolu mount, cast in the style of a wreath, supports the glass bowl and is topped by six candle holders. The chandelier is suspended from three ormolu chains of alternating circular and rectangular links.
