Description

This fine Gardner porcelain figure is crafted from painted bisque porcelain. The porcelain group depicts a peasant, who, seated by a tree stump with his shoes and socks off and his feet on lush green grass, prepares a slice of bread to eat. The figure is naturalistically rendered, set onto an integral ground. The colours are bright and vibrant, with tones of blue and green predominating.

The figure is marked and numbered in red to the underside, with the Moscow St. George and Dragon crest and the full name of the factory in Cyrillic.
