Description

This fine Russian liqueur set was made during the Soviet period in Russia. It comprises of eight pieces: a decanter, six cups, and a tray, all crafted from silver-gilt that has been deftly finished with lustrous blue enamel. The decanter is bulbous in form, featuring a tapering neck surmounted by a mouth with a stopper, and a waisted foot below. Each of the six cups features a knopped silver-gilt stem above a splayed foot, while the circular tray is raised on three ball feet. The bodies of all of the pieces are profusely adorned with blue cloisonné enamel work, with the enamel wrought into a host of scrolling, foliate forms.

The pieces are marked '916' and Cyrillic letters 'LF8'.
