The cup is composed of a bowl with a flared rim, which stands on a shaped stem on a splayed foot. The cup’s silver foot is encircled by a grass-like, pointed band. The foot is decorated with colourful enamel depictions of putti and cherubs relaxing in Arcadian landscapes and hunting wild boar. The rock crystal base of the cup’s stem is gadrooned, and its middle decorated with sculptural silver bearded male figures, sitting back-to-back. The figures’ clothing and jewellery is finely enamelled, as is the stem upon which they sit.
These silver figures raise their hands above their heads to support the cup’s gadrooned rock crystal bowl. Colourful enamel Grotesque satyr masks, stylised bird heads, scrolling vines and foliage decorates the cup’s neck. Its rim is encircled by a silver twisted rope and a pointed grass-like border. Enamel depictions of classical seated figures (possibly Gods and Goddesses) and cherubs decorate the interior of the cup’s mouth.
