The fountain, made by French artist Leon Louis Oury, is modeled as a full length reclining female figure, beside a grotesque mask with an open mouth that serves as the water spout of the fountain, and a carp below that forms another spout. The scene is all set within a wave form basin which is signed to the left side 'Louis Oury' and with foundry mark 'Usine Voyave St Amer Bruxelles'. The style and subject of this fine bronze sculpture typifies the Art Nouveau period of the early 20th Century.
