Moreau, Hippolyte Francois (French 1832-1927)

Hippolyte Francois Moreau was a French sculptor working in the late 19th Century. Born into a distinguished family of sculptors - his father, Jean-Baptiste Moreau, as well as his brothers Auguste and Mathurin - were all famed Academic sculptors working mainly in bronze. Moreau first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1859 and obtained a third class medal there in 1889. 

His figures were inspired by the Rococo style of the 18th Century, and they mainly depicted young women, children, animals and hunting scenes.
