Villeroy & Boch (German, founded 1748)

Return To Glossary

Villeroy & Boch was established in the small French village of Audun le Tiche, where François Boch set up a pottery company with his three sons in 1748. Later the firm moved to nearby Luxembourg and then to Mettlach Germany, where Villeroy & Boch still operates as an important manufacturer of porcelain.
