This charming goblet, crafted with unparalleled skill from ruby red Bohemian cut glass, is adorned with engraved views of the Cathedral of Cologne in Germany.
This distinctive ruby red coloured cut glass goblet is delicately engraved with different scenes of the Cathedral of Cologne in various states of completion. The cathedral remained largely unfinished for 300 years, between the 1520s and the 1820s. During the early nineteenth century, it was decided that the cathedral ought to be completed, a project that gave rise to the views engraved on the present piece.
The goblet is traditionally shaped, raised on a waisted and knopped facet cut socle above a circular foot finished with an indented edge.
