This large Chinese model of an eagle is unusual for its finely crafted form, with each of its individual feathers carved from a different piece of bamboo.
This fine and large eagle model is a superb example of traditional Chinese art from the early 20th Century.
The eagle is crafted from bamboo, its wings outstretched while perched on a naturalistically rendered outcrop wrought from wood. The eagle’s eyes are crafted from glass, granting the bird an animated character.
The large model measures 64cm in height with a wingspan of over 1 metre.
