The garniture set comprises a central jardiniere and a pair of flanking lamps, of which the porcelain is Chinese and the ormolu added later in France, which was highly fashionable at the time. The jardiniere takes the form of a circular bowl in Canton famille rose porcelain, and is painted in this style on both the interior and the exterior with highly detailed Chinese figural court scenes. The bowl is mounted around the rim and to either side with bamboo-form handles in ormolu. The bowl sits on a waisted ormolu base, which rests upon bamboo-form gilt bronze feet. The pair of flanking lamps are similarly decorated with Canton famille rose porcelain bodies and French ormolu mounts. The ormolu mounts to the necks of the vases finish with light fittings in patterned and frosted glass.
