This beautiful vanity mirror is a wonderful example of Chinese decorative art and would make a superb addition to any dressing table.
The piece features a circular mirror set into a bronze frame and suspended on two pivots between the arms of a cradle. The cradle is supported by a shaped plinth, which in turn is raised on an integral domed circular foot.
The surface of the cradle and the plinth is profusely adorned with cloisonné enamel. Set over a cream ground on the cradle, and a pale blue ground on the plinth, a wide variety of foliate and floriate forms scroll in elaborate arabesques, each contained by fine cloisonné wire and filled with variegated polychrome enamels in shades of pink, green, and red.
