This six-panel folding screen, created in China during the early 20th Century, is crafted from hardwood mounted with twenty-four enamel and silver figurative emblems. Each of the six hinged panels is supported by two legs and contains four wooden frames, a silver and polychrome enamel emblem situated within each. The emblems include traditional stylised depictions of animals, incense burners, gongs, and vases—each type confined to a particular horizontal register along the screen.
