Contemporary blue chrome steel and glass sculptural coffee table

Using modern manufacturing techniques, chrome steel and glass have been formed to create this superb sculptural coffee table by Cameron Design House.

The base of the furniture piece comprises fifteen domed chrome steel tubes pigmented in an icy blue shade. The reflective nature of the smooth finish makes the base change its appearance depending on how the light shines, its shades transforming from deep blue to pearlescent purple.

Topping the base is a prominent circular top, crafted from a thick, durable glass pane. The transparent glass top enables one to view the upper part of the chrome steel base, discovering how the tubes are joined together whilst also the base becoming a focal point of the coffee table.

The design of this furniture piece is reminiscent of Jeff Koons’ (American, b. 1955) work, in particular his blue stainless steel ‘Balloon Dog’, combining the visual identity of modern art with functionality. 

This coffee table merges art, craft, and functionality, its vibrant and unusual design bringing a touch of the unexpected to an interior.
