With a resplendent and radiant interior, and lined with meticulous and elegant silver filigree ornamentation, this fine silver cup was made in the early twentieth century. Made as a Jewish Kiddush cup, the object's exact origins are unclear, however, the decoration is undeniably superb. Evocative of lace, it consists of a detailed arrangement of spiral shapes and circular bands, laid out with rigorous geometric precision. It fits neatly into a similarly decorated circular base, and constitues a beautiful piece with which to observe kiddush. The cup is 19cm tall and 9cm in diameter, while the plate is 0.5cm high, by 15cm in diameter.
