This collection of glass bottles and a tray was made by the Cristallerie Royal de Champagne, based in Basel (founded in 1666) and forms a toilet set.
Consisting of 11 pieces, it is comprised of one tray and 10 bottles of varying sizes, the tallest 20cm, the smallest 11cm. Each bottle comes with a stopper, in red crystal glass, while the bottles start in red and gradually fade to clear, through orange, as each piece descends.
The pieces are beautifully modelled, with diagonal, wavelike ridges spiralling along the body of each. The tray is similarly crafted, and the stoppers of each bottle similarly spiral downwards. Remarkably elegant, this glass collection will make a beautiful homeware addition, make with exceptional skill by some of France's finest glassmakers.
The pieces are marked both 'Bayel' and 'Depose.'
