Questions about this piece?

Made in the style of works produced by Peter Carl Fabergé (1846 -1920), the flower study is expertly made from several luxurious materials.

Rhodonite is superbly worked to depict two charming flower blossoms. Each one is pink with speckles of white showcasing the natural colouration of the stone. A shimmering diamond draws one’s attention to the centre from which vermeil (silver gilt) stamens grow. A single vermeil stem appears from the base of each flower, both joining to form one slender stem. Further refined decoration is added to the base of each flower. Three vibrant green nephrite leaves grow from the stem.

The baluster-shaped vase has a pared-down design, and the frosted rock crystal is an unusual material choice for objects of this type. The vermeil stem bears the ‘88’ mark.

Some of the materials used for this decorative object carry deep spiritual meanings. For example, rhodonite is believed to be the stone of compassion, nephrite aids in finding inner peace while rock crystal is associated with new beginnings.

The wonderful quality of craftsmanship and unusual material combination make this flower model an especially desirable object d’art.
