Description

Crafted in 1809, this delightful walking stick features traditional motifs that symbolize wisdom and growth.

The gold-mounted handle is beautifully chased with a band of acorn leaves, framing a simple circle—likely intended for the engraving of the owner's initials. Below the band are several panels, each filled with acorns and oak leaves, separated by wavy patterns. The gold is fully hallmarked, confirming its quality. Just below the handle, a small eyelet for attaching a string or tassels adds practicality, making it easier to carry the walking stick. The eyelet is metal-lined, and its surface features patterns that echo those on the handle.

Oak leaves symbolise strength and stability, while acorns are associated with fertility and new beginnings, imbuing this antique with deep significance.

The cane is supported by a lightweight, patterned wooden shaft that tapers towards the base, which is finished with a metal ferrule for added durability.

Though petite in size, this walking stick carries rich symbolism, making it a wonderful and meaningful gift.
