Description

The cabinet is of rectangular form, its body crafted from mahogany wood. It is composed of two lockable doors in the lower section, which open onto three drawers with ormolu (gilt bronze) wreath ring handles. The doors are mounted with ormolu frames, decorated with rosettes and stylised anthemions. A vertical ormolu band, with a rosette at its centre and pinecone tips, is positioned between the doors. Above, there is a frieze door with a central ormolu escutcheon (lock), which features a diamond at its centre, flanked by scrolling vines and anthemions. The corners of the door are decorated with ormolu swans within medallions. This upper door opens to reveal three shelves and seven small drawers, faced with a light wood. The door folds down to form a writing desk, which is covered with green leather. The cabinet body is surmounted by a flecked mint green marble top.
