Description

This beautiful porcelain plaque portrays a bouquet of roses, lilies, and other vibrant flowers. The floral bouquet is held within a green jug, which is set atop a fictive table ledge and placed against a dark, variegated brown background. The colours are bright and lively: pinks, reds, yellows, and blues predominate, their vivid tones highlighted against the dark ground behind.

The plaque, which is signed lower left ‘E.E. Steele’ for Edwin Steele, is contained within an ornate velvet mounted carved giltwood frame.
