Description

This fine Victorian guéridon, or circular side table, is wrought from cast iron and marble. The table features a cast iron frame, comprised of three ornately scrolled buttresses, which terminate below in scrolling feet, and above in curved acanthus leaves. The frame supports the circular tabletop, which features a variety of marbles inlaid into an intricate geometrical pattern.

The iron is stamped with a British Design Registration Mark (also known as a kitemark or a diamond mark), which indicates that the design for the table was first registered in January of 1870.
