This fine Victorian wall barometer and thermometer is of traditional form. The barometer, inscribed with various weather indicators, is set behind glass and within a circular wooden drum, which extends above in a violin-shape into the housing of the thermometer. The piece is surmounted by a broken pediment top, while the wood is finished with marquetry of differently coloured woods arranged into floral displays. The dial is signed ‘F. Myers, Nottingham’.
