Description

The Russian flower model is set within a vase made from rock crystal, which has been shaped to resemble a glass vessel holding water. It has a gold stem with green nephrite leaves, white hardstone petals and diamond stigmata. The model has been created in the style of the famed jeweller Faberge, most noted for the Easter Eggs which he produced for the Russian Imperial Court. However, before Faberge started creating the Easter Eggs, he had gained a reputation for making small, precious items in the form of animals and plants, such as this flower. Like this flower, these objets d'art were often crafted from precious materials such as silver, gold, diamond, enamel and hardstone.
