These four wall lights have been crafted in the Maison Bagues style from the precious materials of gilt metal, moulded glass and rock crystal.
Established in 1860 by Noel Bagues, the Maison Bagues is renowned for its production of luxury electrical light fixtures. The Maison Bagues is based in the fashionable centre of Paris, and prides itself on its focus on traditional, hand-crafted methods of production, which highlight the expertise and skill of the artisan. The firm's products have been featured in high-end hotels like Paris's George V, and the Savoy in London.
Each wall sconce features a cone-shaped body, upon which a crystal parrot sits. One pair of the birds faces to the right, the other to the left. Sprouting from each cone body are two twisting gilt metal branches which are decorated with crystal leaves and flowers. These extend upwards to form the lights, which feature foliate drip-pans and nozzles. One separate branch grows up and terminates in a large crystal flower.
Once turned on, the light emitted by the sconces will glow through the opaque crystal and reflect off the gilt metal, producing beautiful effects.
