By Meissen Porcelain Manufactory (German, founded 1710)
£4,500
Showcasing a selection of finely crafted birds perched on elegant floral bases, this collection beautifully reflects the exceptional artistry of the Meissen craftsmen.
This charming collection of four porcelain bird figurines was crafted by the highly skilled artists of the renowned Meissen porcelain manufactory. With a history spanning over 300 years, Meissen was the first European porcelain to successfully rival its Chinese counterparts and has since remained a leader in fine porcelain production.
Each of the four birds is depicted perched on a pure white porcelain tree trunk, delicately adorned with moulded and hand-painted flowers. The largest figure is a vibrant parrot, its bright blue, green, and red feathers immediately catching observer’s attention. Two smaller birds, painted in a similar colour palette, gaze attentively ahead. The fourth bird is rendered in more earthy tones such as maroon and brown yet mirrors the upright posture of the others.
All figures are signed at the base with Meissen's iconic underglaze blue crossed swords mark.
