Description

The white marble sculpture depicts the full length nude figure of Eve, who is modeled with long flowing hair standing next to a tree stump. The sculpture shows the biblical moment of Original Sin in the Garden of Eden, where the serpent has persuaded Eve to eat the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, against God's instructions. Eve is depicted with the apple in her right hand, with the serpent, wrapped around her wrist and the tree stump. The sculpture is set on a circular base which is signed to the reverse 'Claude Michaud' and titled to the front 'Eve'.
