This fine club chair is crafted in the distinctive Empire style. The chair features an oval seat, wider than it is deep, which is supported on four legs, the front two of tapered square profile and the back two curved. The curved backrest is mounted to the shoulders with ormolu goat’s head masks, while the front legs are set with classicising ormolu mounts comprised of laurel wreaths and flaming torches. The seat cushion and backrest are upholstered, the edges finished with gold trimming. The two front feet terminate in ormolu paw foot sabots.
