This French antique three piece clock set is stunning in its combination of sumptuous red marble, dark patinated bronze and splendid ormolu.

Description

The clock set comprises a central clock and a pair of flanking seven light candelabra. The clock's circular red marble dial contains a partially rubbed maker's signature, set within a patinated bronze pillar form case with a full length female figure of the Roman goddess Diana (Greek name Artemis) standing next to it, holding a torch with flame and quiver below, all of which is set on a shaped red marble base featuring a central bronze relief panel and ormolu feet. The pair of flanking candelabra feature vase-form supports with bronze relief panels, set on red marble bases, surmounted by seven scrolling branches leading to patinated bronze lights with ormolu drip pans.
