The chandelier is luxuriously crafted from ormolu and cut glass, with the dozens of cut-glass pendants refracting and reflecting the light in a truly spectacular manner.
This beautiful Belle Époque period chandelier is crafted from ormolu and cut glass. The chandelier features an ormolu cage-form frame, with the central square-profile column surrounded by nine violin-shaped ormolu elements, each of which supports below the springing of a candle holder. The chandelier is surmounted above by an elaborate overhanging corona, which is profusely draped with cut-glass pendants and flowers. The remainder of the chandelier is similarly adorned, with the ormolu frame supporting dozens of cut-glass pendants. The chandelier is a spectacular example of the decadence of the Belle Époque, the light from its nine branches being reflected and refracted by the countless facets of the cut-glass pendants.
