This superb ewer is of baluster form. The ewer features a slender neck leading to a shaped spout, a waisted socle above a star-cut base, and an elegantly looped handle. The frosted glass is etched and finished in blue with a scene of herons wading along a riverbank amidst bulrushes and trees, while the neck is finished with geometrical friezes executed in the same technique.
