This magnificent coffee table features an Italian top composed of marble specimens and a French base wrought from gilt and patinated bronze in the Neoclassical style.
The coffee table is crafted from gilt and patinated bronze and a variety of specimen stones. The top of the table is Italian in origin, the black marble slab inlaid with a grid of polychrome marble specimens, including examples of Siena marble and malachite. The support of the table is French, the structure crafted in the Neoclassical style. The apron, of patinated bronze, is set with classicising ormolu mounts, including acanthus leaf sprays and rosettes. The table is supported by four tapered ormolu legs, the legs connected by a cross stretcher centred by a pierced ormolu basket.
