Description

Dating from the second half of the 19th century, and attributed to Francois Lepage, the inventor of Bois Durci, this set of twenty roundels consists of a superb selection of miniature portraits of famous historical figures and a larger roundel of a lady playing the organ within a laurel frame. Some of likenesses shown include William Tell, Lord Byron, Pope Pius IX, and Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. 

Largest 22 cm. diameter, smallest: 11.5cm.
