Description

This assorted group of six bronze dog figures includes models of various types and materials and demonstrates a number of different techniques. One figure is a patinated bronze group after the German sculptor Johann Heinrich von Dannecker’s well-known Ariadne on the Panther; another bronze depicts a hunting dog guarding a sleeping child; there is a cold painted bronze figure of a seated dog, a standing bronze cocker spaniel, and a patinated bronze standing ormolu hound; finally, there is a seated cocker spaniel, also ormolu, which functions as a charming inkwell.
