Description

The clock is of the Victorian period and style. The clock takes heart shaped form with a central circular silver dial which bears black Arabic numerals. The dial is decorated to the centre with a circle of two-colour gilt applied with foliate scrollwork. The dial bears the retailer's name of "Howell & James Limtd. to the Queen". The heart shaped frame is decorated all over with silver crimped foliate and beading. The reverse of the clock is of blue velvet with a circular silver cover and strut. The clock bears marks for Charles Dew Miller, London, 1890
