This charming Indian silver cup features a surface adorned with low relief depictions of a deer, an elephant, and a tiger in a wonderfully detailed landscape.
This miniature cup was produced in India during the 19th Century. The cup is crafted from silver, which has been worked in a variety of ways: the silver has been repoussé from the inside, to produce a design in low relief on the exterior surface, and engraved, which provides subtle detail to the surface decoration. The surface of the cup is profusely adorned with scenes of animals, flowers, and other forms in an abstracted landscape. The top of the cup is mounted with a band of ruby-like gemstones.
