Of a reasonably large scale, this very fine garden urn is carved from white marble in the campagna shape, also known as the 'Medici Vase.'
Made in continental Europe towards the end of the nineteenth century, it utilises a well-known decorative design in finely carved white marble to elevate a simple garden piece and function into a work full of grand Classical style.
