Description

This fine early 20th century bronze figure of a cherub is portrayed standing on its right leg, with left leg lifted behind, holding aloft a goblet draped in leaves and grapes. The sculpture has a beautiful dark green patina, and stands upon a circular naturalistic base.

The pedestal- which was created around the same period and also in France- is made from ebonised wood with a fluted central column and circular top, matching the base of the sculpture. It is set with ormolu mounts of flower garlands and further foliage within the flutes, and stands upon an octagonal base.
