Description

Crafted from brass in the style of late 20th century works by Maison Jansen - one of the leading Parisian interior design firms of the past one hundred years - this fine floor lamp is an exceptionally bold statement piece, full of character and radiant impact.

The gilt brass leaves beautifully radiate and shine as the light reflects off the many facets. The piece is mounted on an elegant round malachite base, which appears to give the illusion of grass that might surround a palm tree.

Palm tree lamps were made in the 1960s and 1970's by Maison Jansen, and continue to remain exceptionally popular, as do works in their style. A pioneering and experimental design house, their pieces ranged from traditional royal French styles to the Art Deco and the contemporary. They closed doors in 1989.

This very fine piece is a remarkably bold and impressive piece of design, making for a desirable interior addition, and a fine testament to the legacy of one of the great design houses of the 20th century.
