This Bohemian glass goblet is beautifully crafted from cut and incised glass. The goblet is set on a spreading foot with a slender, shaped stem above. The faceted body is topped by a domed lid surmounted by a shaped and faceted finial. The glass throughout is beautifully cut, while one cartouche is inscribed ‘Aus Dankbarkeit’, which translates into English as ‘Out of Gratitude’. The piece was thus once given as a token of thanks. It is dated 1833.
