Description

This fine porcelain plaque depicts a Renaissance style interior scene. A young and beautifully dressed woman sits in an ornate armchair, her right hand outstretched to pluck a pink rose from an abundant bouquet. She is seated within a decadent interior, with a fine landscape painting positioned beneath curtains on the wall behind her. The manner of painting is fine and precise, with the subdued colour palette evoking an atmosphere of low light.

The plaque is signed lower left, is marked spuriously 'KPM' to the reverse, and is contained within an ornate giltwood frame.
