This magnificent chandelier is beautifully crafted in transparent Murano glass and ormolu.Â
It is made up of five tiers, decreasing in size from top to bottom. An ormolu frame occupies the centre of the chandelier on which individual hooks are attached from which Murano glass diamond-shaped rods are hanging. When switched on, the light disperses along the glass rods, further emphasising gold detailing of the gilt bronze and the immaculate quality of the Murano glass.
Murano glass, made on the Venetian island of Murano has played a key role in the history of glass making and continues to be one of the most desirable glass types, making this chandelier an extremelyremarkable piece.Â
The breath-taking chandelier is made by Camer. Since the company's creation it has been renowned for its very high-quality glass pieces such as this large and elegant chandelier. Paolo Venini (1895-1959), an Italain designer, most celebrated for the use of Murano glass in his designs has worked with Camer on multiple similar pieces and it is possible that this chandelier has also been designed by him.Â
With a sleek design, this elegant chandelier embodies the priciples of Italian mid-century design and would form an exceptional addition to the appropriate interior.Â
The chandelier can be displayed with a pair of Murano glass and brass wall lights of a similar design, available here.Â
