Description

These grand antique rectangular door panels are modelled with bronze frames, inset to the top sections with arched stained glass panels, designed with a repeating diamond pattern in light and dark blue, with a red glass outline. The stained glass panels are monogrammed to the centre 'LP' on yellow glass, with red glass borders, all presented within elaborate scrolling orange stained glass frames. The heavy bronze door handles, which take a twisted form, are set beneath the stained glass panels, with the same 'LP' monograms, as depicted in glass, shown further below in rectangular bronze panels. The door to the right has a keyhole below the handle.

The bronze is signed 'M. A. MARTEAU. ARCHITECTES. 1896', for the French architects who designed and commissioned these doors in the year 1896. They would have been custom made to be fitted in a grand entrance.

Each panel measures: Height 210cm, width 41cm (82cm when together), depth 10cm
